With so many pacifiers on the market, choosing one can be confusing. Parenting is a wonderful journey, yet for new parents unsure which products suit their baby best, it can also feel stressful. When it comes to nipples, no size or shape is right or wrong, because every baby is different. That's why it pays to try several shapes and sizes to land on the perfect fit for your little one.

That's the reasoning behind the BIBS Try-it-Collection. It gathers one pacifier from each of 4 categories (Colour, De Lux, Supreme, and Couture), spanning every nipple type (Round, Symmetrically, and Anatomically) and material (Natural Rubber Latex and Silicone), so you and your baby can test them and settle on your favourite BIBS pacifier.

For hygiene, we suggest swapping pacifiers every 4-6 weeks.

FOR YOUR BABY's SAFETY :

Always check the product carefully before each use, especially once baby has teeth, and pull the pacifier in every direction.
Throw it out at the first sign of damage or weakness. Use only dedicated pacifier holders tested to EN 12586. Never tie other ribbons or cords to a pacifier, as your baby could be strangled by them. Do not store the pacifier in direct sunlight.

HOW TO CLEAN YOUR PACIFIERS?

Parents often reach out unsure how to clean pacifiers. With so much advice of varying quality on how and how often to clean them, feeling confused is perfectly understandable.

Here we'll walk through how to clean pacifiers properly, how often it should be done, and finally debunk a couple of lingering myths about cleaning them.

Care Instructions:

Sterilize each pacifier before use. Boil water and pour it over the pacifiers, letting them soak for roughly 5 minutes. Lift them out and let them dry. Since the nipples can hold water, just squeeze each one to release it, then leave to cool and dry for 3-4 hours. Discard the pacifier right away if it shows any irregularities. Because our pacifiers are made from natural rubber, the nipple may expand with use.

HOW TO STERILIZE THE PACIFIERS :

To clean the pacifier, simply follow these four easy steps:

1. Put the pacifiers in a clean bowl
2. Pour them with boiling water
3. Let the pacifiers soak for approx. 5 min.
4. Pick them up and let them dry

Most pacifiers come with valves. If the nipple has one, be sure to squeeze any excess water from the seat part once the nipple has cooled enough.

TIP: Once your child is past 3 months, you can also rinse the pacifier by setting it in a sieve and pouring boiling water over it. This route is partly quicker and helps keep water from pooling inside the seat part.

Caution! Parents frequently write in after following the National Board of Health's advice to boil the pacifier for 5 minutes before first use and daily thereafter. The outcome is broken pacifiers. DO NOT COOK. They aren't meant to be boiled and the high heat destroys them.

Follow the steps above instead, and you'll reliably kill the bacteria without sacrificing the pacifier's durability.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I CLEAN THEM?

Good sucking hygiene includes cleaning pacifiers often. The younger the child, the more crucial it is to shield them from bacteria and keep up good pacifier hygiene. One reason is that a child's immune system hasn't yet become acquainted with many of the different bacteria around it, so it hasn't learned to "defend" against them either.

Premature infants and babies up to 3 months need cleaning that's more thorough and more frequent than babies older than 3 months. The pacifier therefore has to be cleaned more often while the child is under 3 months.

0-3 months: Scald the pacifier every time it has touched the floor, and scald it at least once daily as well.
3+ months: Rinse the pacifier once a day, and rinse it under the cold tap if it has been on the floor.
