An elephant captured mid-stride, this large wall piece can anchor any room as its central masterpiece. It feels real, and you can sense its presence. The work belongs to a set of five original charcoal pieces created to spotlight five endangered species; the originals went to an online auction, with proceeds given to the Zoo Foundation, whose mission supports conservation, research and education projects. Since the 1950s, the world's African elephant population has fallen by close to two million, with ivory poaching and habitat fragmentation standing as the gravest threats.

Because it is black and white, it slips easily into any home and pairs with every colour, making it simple to find the right spot in your nest. Beyond being practical, the monochrome look is striking: it keeps your eye on the texture, the contrasts and, above all, the emotion that comes through. Once it's in your hands, you'll notice the fine charcoal strokes up close and feel the grained paper under your fingers, thanks to inks chosen to stay beautiful in the sun and a textured archival paper that recalls the watercolour paper I like to pencil on.

Adopting a piece of art also helps protect the environment. For each paper artwork or greeting card sold, I plant a tree with my Ecologi team on your behalf, and for each canvas work sold I plant two trees in your name.
