La petite robe rouge / Apje'ji'jk Mekwe'k Mtoqan / The Little Red Dress

Sakari often searches through her grandmother’s home, but the woven basket stored in the attic remains a mystery. One day, an open photo album leads her nukumi to speak about a younger sister who vanished after high school.

By helping her grandmother release the long-held secret, Sakari helps the missing woman’s spirit find peace. This trilingual picture book raises awareness of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
