Moose in quiet water - greeting card

A sweet note always feels good, and it's even nicer arriving in a handmade greeting card from Quebec. This simple black and white charcoal card, showing a moose in quiet water, suits many occasions. As I create each of my charcoal animals, I draw out its personality from what it symbolically represents, so every one carries a different presence. Meet my moose standing in calm waters: offering him as a card means offering a share of his calm and resilience.

It was an honour to work with Maxime Legare-Vezina on this piece. The result joins Maxime's photographic talent, artistic eye and the patience to wait behind his camera, rain or shine, with each of my pencil strokes interpreting the beauty of his image. Not only are they plentiful, but the bulls have particularly large antlers. This one is one of the biggest bulls in the park and when I saw him heading towards the small stream, I was so excited that I didn't hesitate to jump into the water. I waited for quite a while despite the very cold temperature and the knee-deep water, hoping that the moose would turn towards me. He finally took a drink and I was able to walk away with a picture taken at water level far beyond my expe"

The illustration is black and white and blank inside, with a black envelope.
