The image grew out of a photograph by Tanin Kayvan, a Canadian photographer who spent several months living among Mongolia's Tsaatan tribe. In Mongolian, the word Tsaatan means "those who have reindeer", and the Tsaatan are a small community of nomadic reindeer herders settled in the north of Mongolia.
